Welcome to Soft Magnetic Materials 2011 - SMM20

The 20th Soft Magnetic Materials Conference 2011, SMM 20, will be held in Kos Island, Greece, from September 18 until September 22, 2011. The conference will be organized by the National Technical University of Athens, NTUA. with the technical sponsorship of the IEEE Magnetics Society

The conference covers the following topics:

  1. Basic problems, magnetization processes, domain studies, micromagnetics
  2. Grain-oriented and non-oriented electrical steels
  3. Fe-Ni, Fe-Co, amorphous, and nanocrystalline alloys
  4. Soft ferrites, powder cores, and composite materials
  5. Thin films, metamaterials, novel and special materials
  6. Magnetic measurements and instrumentation
  7. Transformers, motors, actuators, and other power applications
  8. Sensors, high-frequency and electronic applications
  9. Shielding, environment, and energy applications
  10. Bioengineering applications using soft magnetic materials
  11. Electric motion, electric vehicles and soft magnetic materials
  12. Other

The Series of Soft Magnetic Material Conferences attract the attention of the most important research and development groups in magnetism, offering the  possibility to attend to the most important advances in the field of soft magnetic materials.

Conference Papers

Conference submissions are 1-page abstracts that will be published in the SMM20 book of abstracts. Authors are asked to submit their full papers which will be published in IEEE Transactions on Magnetics following the classic and well known manuscript procedure of submission via the IEEE Portal.

Venue

SMM 20 local organizers have selected the Kos International Convention Centre (KICC), Kos Island, one of the most profound Conference Centres across Europe, as the place to host the Conference and the Conference Delegates. In such an excellent infrastructure, the participants shall be able to achieve maximum comfort and splendour in a quite affordable cost, allowing for discussing their common scientific and research interests as well as enjoying the well known Greek Hospitality.
